Beginning in 2012, the Well-Being Travel Conference will be the first medical travel conference designed for the travel industry. It will help promote the benefits of seeking medical attention in other countries including Mexico. “None of the medical travel events in the marketplace today have provided a solutions for a strong distribution system that effectively reaches the patient traveler,” says Anne Marie Moebes, executive vice president of Well-Being Travel.
The conference will feature presentations from the world’s top medical and travel organizations as well as an in-depth look at the highly specialized corporate side of medical travel. It will also help travel agents understand how to present medical travel as a benefit to corporate clients. This is especially important as many insurance companies are working with corporations that are trying to offer employee benefits for those who travel for less costly medical procedures.
This conference is also important as medical related conferences are already starting to talk about the importance of medical travel as it relates to the aging Baby Boomers in the United States. More specifically, as mentioned in the blog below, the recent AARP conference proved that medical travel is an important topic among members of the association.
The Well-Being Travel Conference is scheduled for June 21-23, 2012 at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. More than 1,000 participants including travel agents, suppliers, and destination marketing organizations are expected to attend.
