President Calderon and his government have named 2011 the “Year of Tourism” for Mexico, and we’ve seen positive advances manifested in several ways. Notably, the medical tourism industry in Mexico has represented a major contribution to this initiative, specifically with the first Health Tourism Forum in Monterrey, which was led by Mexico’s Minister of Health and Minister of Tourism. It’s exciting to see continued efforts progress — and there is even more evidence that this progress is occurring! In the next 14 years, it’s been estimated that 6,000,000 Americans are projected to retire in Mexico.
