I like to include content on this blog that covers medical travel around the world, as it is an industry that is seeing growth and increased credibility not only in Mexico, but globally.

As public awareness builds and the public takes note, there is also attention from the governments that understand the unlimited potential that medical tourism can offer as a revenue source. The added bonus is that it is a revenue source for dual industries–both medical and tourism.

South Korea’s government has been actively promoting medical tourism since 2007, and a recent report from the Korea Times states that this has led to a jump in foreign patients–from 7,901 in 2007 and 60,201 in 2009. Finally, in 2010 the number jumped to 81,789. Amazing news for the world of medical tourism!
