In Malaysia, predictions say that medical tourism may contribute up to 20 percent of its total revenue in the next five years with the completion of two new hospitals. Raja Azlan Shah Raja Azwa, managing director of Sime Darby Medical Centre, comments:

These two hospitals will help us generate medical tourism. At the moment, we have about 4,000 international patients.

Raja Azlan Shah said that the target was to get about 900,000 patients in the next five years from the current 500,000. It will feature a Brain Center with a stroke clinic and an epilepsy clinic, pediatric and adult heart center, and a spine and joint center.
