Travel agents, medical tourism facilitators and other industry professionals were surveyed by the Medical Tourism Association to gauge their opinions on the current condition of medical travel. Here’s what the had to say:
- 99% are optimistic about the future of medical travel.
- 50% of travel agents indicated that they frequently partner directly with doctors and hospitals in facilitating medical travel
- 29% of medical tourism facilitators indicated that 80-100% of their patients travelled with a companion.
- 34% of this group also indicated that patient and consumer awareness of medical tourism is an aspect that should be addressed.
